I'm working on learning the difference between "circle of concern" and "circle of control."
I have enough stuff to worry about without worrying about things I have no control over. And yet, I do it quite often. I realize this because it's Friday night and I have just come in from sitting on the porch for half an hour in the dark, protecting a female stray cat from the amorous advances of a male stray cat.
There's got to be a happy middle ground between "I'm responsible for the world" and "I don't give a flying rat's bottom." I just haven't found it yet. So, tonight I'm sharing with myself a few quotes to remind me to lighten up. I don't know who wrote all of them. But I'd like to thank them.

If you love somebody, set them free. It also works equally well if you hate somebody. – Josh Stern
Some days, it just feels like you're rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.
Inside me is a skinny person trying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with a few cookies.
My guardian angel drinks.
Some days I amaze myself. Other days I hang up on a conversation so I can search for my phone.
